Mini-Symposium at the 7ECM jointly organised by DVMLG and ESTS: “Recent results in axiomatic, combinatorial, and descriptive set theory”
The 7th European Congress of Mathematics (7ECM) will take place from 18-22 July 2016 in Berlin, Germany: http://7ecm.de.
The Deutsche Vereinigung für Mathematische Logik und für Grundlagenforschung der Exakten Wissenschaften (DVMLG) and the European Set Theory Society (ESTS) are jointly organising a mini-symposium in set theory at 7ECM that highlights recent results from various subareas of set theory that are of special interest to European set theorists. The two associations invited a combination of junior and senior researchers presenting current research. The four speakers are Carolin Antos-Kuby (Vienna, Austria), Andrew Brooke-Taylor (Bristol, England), Péter Komjáth (Budapest, Hungary), and Assaf Rinot (Ramat Gan, Israel), representing both established researchers and junior researchers. All speakers have accepted our invitation to speak. Antos-Kuby plans to talk about “Forcing in different (set) theories”, Brooke-Taylor about joint work with Sheila Miller showing that the class of left distributive algebras is Borel complete, Komjáth about “Recent results on the chromatic number of graphs and set systems”, and Rinot about “A study of strong combinatorial axioms”. The mini-symposium is organised by Benedikt Löwe (president of DVMLG) and István Juhász (president of ESTS).
