PhD fellowships at University Paris Diderot

Université Sorbonne Paris Cité (USPC) will offer 30 highly competitive PhD contracts to international candidates from all over the world, in 2016 via the INSPIRE (INterdiSciPlinarity and excellence for doctoral training of International REsearchers in Paris) programme. These fellowships are co-financed by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 (H2020) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, COFUND and by the French Government’s Investissements d’avenir programme. Position as Maitre de conférence in mathematical logic, Paris (France), Deadline: 26 Oct 2015

It is likely that there will be another opening for a Maitre de Conférence position (Assistant Professor) in Mathematical Logic at the University of Paris 7 in 2016. Full Professorship (W3) for Mathematical Logic and Foundations of Mathematics

(Succession to Prof. Martin Ziegler)

in the Department of Mathematics to be filled by October 2016.

She or he is a person with an established research record in a branch of mathematical logic. Furthermore she or he will be expected to bear an appropriate share of the teaching duties of the Institute of Mathematics as well as of the academic self-administration (government).

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected. This professorship is also suited as a starting position for highly qualified early career researchers.

Two years postdoc position in set theory in Torino (updated)

There is an opening for a two year post doc position in set theory in the department of mathematics of Torino university starting july 1st 2013 and finishing june the 30th 2015.

Applicants are required to be less than 35 and must have earned their Ph.D. title. It is also required to the applicants to have at least one publication in a peer reviewed journal in the last five years. The net salary is slightly more than 1400 euros per month.

The post doc will join the logic group of the department which consists of Matteo Viale, Alessandro Andretta, Raphael Carroy (set theory), Domenico Zambella (model theory). The selection of applicants will be based on an evaluation of the CV, of the publication records, and of their interests of research which must be in set theory. It is possible to file online the applications creating an account on the italian ministry of education website.
